‘Kua hinga te tōtara o Te Waonui a Tāne’ (A tōtara tree has fallen in the forest of Tāne)

My good friend and mentor for 40 years, Tom Sine (futurist, speaker, author, cook, voracious collector of stories of the Kingdom, sold out follower of Jesus, husband and father) died in Seattle this morning. Tom turned 90 in February and had deepening dementia over the last 12 months or so. A mighty tōtara has fallen. You were well prepared for God’s homecoming that you spoke about so often. I’ll miss you Tom. Mark

By Tom’s wife Christine, inspired by Leonard Cohen’s Anthem. Christine’s blogs at godspacelight.com are worth reading.

I've been curating worship for several decades (and coined the term in relation to worship.) I am passionate about the local community of faith and imagining what its worship needs to look/feel/sound/taste like in order to sustain people in their following of Christ in the world.
